Ministry of Culture meets with artists from the region settled in Madrid to 'express support and listen to their proposals'

The aim of the meeting held by the Minister of Culture, Noelia Arroyo, is to launch new initiatives

 

The Minister of Culture and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo met with artists and cultural professionals of the region, who are based or temporarily residing in Madrid, in order to express support and exchange views.

Arroyo, who has held meetings with different sectors of the Murcian cultural scene ,continues her visits to get to understand better the reality of the cultural sector and launch new initiatives.

The professionals who attended this new appointment at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid were the artist Javier Pividal from Cartagena; the actress Pepa Aniorte; the screenwriter and film director Manuela Burlón; the actress Angela Baturone; the sculptor José Carrilero; the scene director Mariano Paco; the actor Daniel Albaladejo; the artist and fashion designer Ana Gabarrón; the creator Maria Garcia; the dance teacher Fuensanta Ros; the director Dani Campos;the actor Antonio M. Muñoz; the vice chancellor of the National Conservatory of Dance, Eva López Crevillén; the conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the UCAM, Eugenio Santos; the musician José Antonio Torres; the film director Juan Manuel Chumilla; the artist Veronica Navarro; the director Miguel Alcantuz, and artist Angel Haro.

"This diverse group of artists and culture professionals is a sample of how the Murcian art triumphs and crosses borders," said the minister, who thanked all who "spread the name of the region around the world, becoming our representatives and also our ambassadors ".

"This group of artists from Murcia, and those who could not come because of work commitments, are a source of pride for all of us and also a reference for all those in the region who are beginning their artistic careers," said Arroyo, adding that "they are an example of the pursuit of excellence rewarded."

During the meeting, attendees learned some of the measures implemented by the regional government, such as tax incentives, "aimed at improving investment in culture and creating a more participatory culture in which businesses and citizens will also involve themselves  ".

Among the proposals made to the minister, the artists have expressed their desire to establish more fluid communication and promotion mechanism, or enhance measures to achieve greater weight in the audiovisual market.
